Firmware Upgrade of Yealink IP phones

Supported Models: Yealink T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, VP and CP series

The following document will outline how to upgrade the firmware of a Yealink IP phone using the device’s own web interface. This step is required prior to the provisioning of the phone to ensure that the bare minimum requirements and features are implemented into the device’s firmware. The minimum required firmware is specified in the main provisioning guides for Yealink T1T2T3T4T5CP and VP series.

Check/Validate Firmware Version

In order to check the firmware version of your Yealink IP phone:

  1. Point your web browser  to your phone’s IP address.
  2. Login to your account (default user/password: admin/admin).
  3. Navigate to Status >> Status >> Firmware Version. This number is your device’s running firmware

Upgrade Firmware

In order to manually upgrade your Yealink’s firmware:

  1. Download the latest supported firmware version
  2. Select your model, and open the latest Firmware image .rom file.
  3. Point your web browser to your phone’s IP address.
  4. Navigate to Settings >> Upgrade >> Select and Upgrade Firmware.”
  5. Click “Choose File” choose the firmware image file saved previously, and press “Upgrade.”
